If you live in the SF Bay area and enjoy dance — or have been following this blog, My Son Can Dance, and want to see my son, Julian Lacey, dance — here’s your chance! Saturday, Palace of Fine Arts, 2 shows. Be there!

Spring Showcase

at The Palace of Fine Arts

2 pm & 7 pm Saturday, June 11, 2011

Purchase tickets online at City Box Office

Julian is the grandfather (small role) in the featured full-school production, Peter and the Wolf, and has a large role in Don Q and Rossini’s Madness, the two pre-professional numbers.

I hope I’ll see you there. I’ll be the woman guarding the curtain entry to backstage…my volunteer job!

our son is registered for the City Ballet Summer intensive level IV next month. When we saw the news about the Spring showcase on your blog today, we dropped everything and decided to drive to the City for the 7pm show. The technical precision of the pre-professionals were very impressive. Julian was a treat to watch and our son could nothing but talk about Julian until he finally went to bed. Please convey our ‘job well done’ to him and accept our congratulations for raising a great male dancer.

I’m so glad! I remember you saying you had registered your son for the intensive. I know he will enjoy it and learn a lot from Galina. She is fabulous. Yuri only teaches the pre-pros. We will not be around this summer. If you’ve been reading, you know Julian is away all summer. I hope we will meet in the fall, however. I wish you had looked for me at the show, but I’m so happy Julian inspired your son and you were able to come see the superb level of dance at City Ballet. You also got to see a dancer, Geraldine, who will be dancing with the Joffrey in just a month and a half. So that tells you something…
